Open to recent graduates (degree completed within the past two years) and to veterans who completed a degree and subsequently served at least four years in the uniformed services. For veterans, the two-year window starts on the discharge or release date. Students graduating in Spring 2027 may apply. See Qualifications for details.
Qualifying experience is credited from private and public sectors, including paid and unpaid service (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps). Volunteer service builds competencies that translate to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience. See OPM's General Schedule Qualification Standards for details.
To be eligible for appointment under the Recent Graduate Hiring Authority, applicants must meet requirement A or B:
A) Applicants who have completed a bachelor's or graduate degree from a Qualifying Educational Institution within the previous two years or students who anticipate graduating Spring 2027 that included: (a) completion of a major course of study in accounting, banking, business administration, commercial or banking law, economics, finance, marketing or other related fields; (b) completion of at least 24 semester hours of combined course work in business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, mathematics, statistics, or economics that included at least 6 semester hours in accounting;
OR
B) Veterans who have completed a bachelor's or graduate degree from a Qualifying Educational Institution and have an intervening period of obligated service of at least four years in the uniformed services. The two-year eligibility period begins on the date of discharge or release from the uniformed service.
In addition to meeting the eligibility listed above, you must also meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.
