Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Housing Division Chief within the Directorate of Public Works.
  • Supervise the work/duties of the Housing division’s personnel.
  • Manage contractual agreements for family and unaccompanied housing.
  • Develop comprehensive housing management plans for all non-privatized housing functions.
  • Serve as the chief liaison between various stakeholders to include Garrison Command Staff.
  • Provide oversight into the construction of the Community Development Management Plan.
  • Formulate long-range improvement plans for leased housing, unaccompanied personnel housing (barracks), and off-post rental services.
  • Prepare fiscal oversight on budgets to include financial work plans.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Tier 1, non-sensitive, low-risk security clearance.
  • This position requires the Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one-year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1). Directing a complex multi-faceted housing program, which includes managing large-scale projects. 2). Overseeing budgets and contracts. 3) Providing oversight for major construction projects. 4) Developing comprehensive housing management plans for non-privatized assets to include leased housing and rental programs. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
