Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Military Treatment Facility advisor and liaison on a full range of personnel actions
  • Provide human resources advisory on proposed position descriptions (PDs) and availability of standardized PDs
  • Initiate all recruit/fill Requests for Personnel Action (RPAs) to ensure positions are supportable.
  • Prepare a variety of reports and develops command overview of personnel actions for review and analysis purposes.
  • Resolve problems regarding pay and benefits issues in a timely manner so that employees can make informed decisions
  • Maintain liaison with higher headquarters on all military personnel management transactions, as required.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position requires the incumbent to have tuberculosis testing.
  • Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Position may be authorized to Telework on a Situational basis.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing technical support, general clerical and office automation functions such as assisting with routine personnel actions; conducting in-processing and out-processing employees; providing customer service by email or telephonically; and inputting and/or retrieving data using an automated system. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Human Resources Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
