This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Receive, verify, and store new or reclaimed parts, components, conversion kits, and sub-assemblies, etc. according to work station requirements.
Provide status information regarding levels and recommends adjustments to depot overhaul factors, upgrading priorities, line stoppers, disposition of Quality Deficiency Report material.
Receive shop work orders, program activation notices, depot overhaul factors, work center completion schedules, and a variety of other documents prior to program start.
Submit requisitions IAW proper procedures, utilizing regular priorities for forecasted and on-hand parts, and high priorities for unforecasted or short parts.
Operate electric, gas, and/or diesel-powered forklift to move loads under 10,000 lbs.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
This position has a requirement to lift up to 45 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Expediter ( Forklift Operator) ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties, including organizing storage areas to support efficient workflow, monitoring material requirements to eliminate delays and operating forklifts to transport materials safely. I can examine received parts to identify material defects. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort: Incumbent regularly handles weights up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally in excess of 45 pounds. Heavy exertion is frequent. Constant kneeling, crouching, stooping and walking are required.
Working Conditions: Except for MHE operation, work is normally performed indoors. Inside typical shop and/or storage areas, fans and heaters moderate (but do not eliminate) seasonal extremes of temperature. In some instances, there may be no moderation at all. In operating MHE between buildings, operator is exposed to inclement weather and to hazards from other moving vehicles. Risk of shifting and/or falling loads is always present. Inside shop and storage areas, incumbent is regularly exposed to nose, dirt, fumes, and vibrations. Safety shoes and ear plugs are required. Some material which incumbent handles, stores, and disposes of are hazardous.
