Serves as a Dam Safety Instrumentation Specialist supporting the District’s Dam Safety program.
Responsible for executing and managing the dam safety instrumentation program, including collecting, compiling, evaluating, and tracking instrumentation data;
Implementing data-quality-control processes; identifying significant trends or anomalies; and,
Preparing technical reports, summaries, and related documentation to support dam safety monitoring and decision-making.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state's driver's license.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience GS-11: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Experience supporting dam safety, civil works, geotechnical, or structural monitoring programs; 2) Applying knowledge of dam safety instrumentation, including data collection, evaluation, quality control, maintenance, and troubleshooting for devices such as piezometers, weirs, pressure gauges, and strain meters; 3) Demonstrating the ability to analyze monitoring data, identify trends or anomalies, conduct field inspections, and prepare clear technical reports, summaries, and briefings; and 4) Proficiency with GIS and CAD-based tools, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, to prepare maps, plans, cross-sections, and instrumentation displays. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
