Serves as team leader to Disability Processing Specialists in the Disability Processing Branch. Assists management with both individual and overall performance assessment issues by conducting quality reviews and serves as a liaison with other components both inside and outside SSA.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include:
Applying knowledge of disability programs in order to make recommendations on the resumption or continuance of benefit payments based on the beneficiary's income, self-employment, and medical condition, which includes the review of continuing medical disability, evaluating income related work expenses, work subsidies, and other return to work-related factors.
Providing technical guidance on program policies, procedures, or programmatic systems verbally or in writing.
Analyzing programs and operations for trends and issues and making recommendations for correction.
