Help
  • Serves as the sole administrative support at the Division level of both government and contracted personnel.
  • Prepares a variety of special reports and data calls; identifies, coordinates, and solicits necessary information for the reports.
  • As the primary administrative support for the division, performs duties such as responding to and referring telephone calls and visitors, sorting and disseminating incoming mail.
  • Acts as supply coordinator by developing supply and equipment lists, ordering office administrative supplies, and distributing supplies
  • Prepares and/or coordinates the preparation, release, control, and distribution of all correspondence, OCONUS packages, reports, briefings, analyses, and other documents

  • This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
  • In accordance with the DoD 8140 policy series, the position is subject to completing Foundational Qualifications in 9 months and completing Residential Qualification requirements overall in 12 months.
  • Secret/NCS security clearance is required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-08, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in administrative and management support functions which includes preparing and editing official correspondence, reports, and presentations; conducting management studies and data analysis; managing meetings, schedules, records, supplies, and timekeeping in accordance with organizational policies and procedures..

  • Clerk-Typist, GS-2/4; Office Automation Clerk/ Assistant (any grade); (Typing) (any grade); and (Office Automation) (any grade):

    40 words per minute typing speed.

Education

GG-08 Substitution of Education for Experience:Eighteen (18) months of graduate education may be substituted to meet the qualifyingexperience requirement when education is directly related to the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

To be creditable, education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. You must report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions that are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education .

  • A three year probationary period may be required if you have not previously completed a trial or probationary period in the excepted or competitive service.
  • Telework availability will be based upon the mission requirements and supervisory determination
