Duties

Help
  • Plans, supervises, and conducts counterintelligence investigations, collections, and operations to identify and counter foreign intelligence and terrorist threats.
  • Directs counterintelligence support to force protection, critical infrastructure protection, threat assessments, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Develops and implements counterintelligence operational plans, reports, procedures, and information-sharing requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains liaison with U.S., host-nation, and partner intelligence, law-enforcement, security, and military organizations.
  • Supervises assigned personnel by setting work priorities, providing technical guidance, evaluating performance, and ensuring required training and mission readiness.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance).

  • Must sign and comply with the provisions of a mobility (rotation) agreement. Mobility may include unaccompanied tours.
  • All lNSCOM employees may be subject to extended temporary duty (TDY) or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
  • Must successfully complete all required certification courses and training for the discipline, position and grade as directed by program manager guide.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning and conducting counterintelligence operations, coordinating with U.S. and host-nation partners, and providing counterintelligence threat and force-protection support to commanders and supported organizations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG-13).

  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
