Maintains familiarity with functions, responsibilities, and activities of other Emergency Management (EM) project managers to carry out or supplement the functions of the other positions due to periods of intense workload (e.g., disasters, exercises).
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for certain DoD personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Position requires a valid driver's license
Incumbent will be required to remain readily accessible during potential emergency conditions to commence work quickly and to serve on 24hour call.
Response to disasters or emergencies will be within 6 hours of notification and being prepared to stay for a minimum of 30 days at a time.
Must possess skill to handle affairs while working in stressful environments.
Incumbent may be required to perform up to 20 percent or more temporary duty travel (TDY).
Incumbent is expected to be an active member of a Regional and / or National team involved in disaster / emergency response and / or recovery support.
Position is Mission Essential IAW DoDI 3020.42.
