Duties

Help
  • Recommend updates to installation maps to accurately reflect the addition or removal of buildings and structures.
  • Draft justification documents to request the official demolition or disposal of excess installation buildings.
  • Examine engineer drawings and project plans to confirm new construction details are ready for official recording.
  • Review work orders, transfer and acceptance documents, and new facility contracts to ensure compliance with Federal Management Regulations and Army Regulations.
  • Represent the Realty Officer at command meetings to provide expert guidance and answer inquiries on facility management policies.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 Months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • Position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Term employment is subject to a one year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights.
  • Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450, pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter required in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Contractor Officer's Representative (COR) certification within one year of employment.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) it is required to report to work or remain as scheduled.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of specialized experience which includes processing real property actions such as acquisitions, outgrants, leases, and dispositions for compliance with applicable realty laws and regulations; utilizing automated real property systems to record facility characteristics, utilization, and cost data to maintain accurate asset accountability; Assisting in preparing space utilization surveys and facility documentation to determine the appropriate use of reportable space. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
