About the Position: Serves as the program coordinator for the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) program, including the H2F Human Performance Team, serving Soldiers assigned to 06-level subordinate commands within the United States Army. The program coordinator must have a general understanding of kinesiology, dietetics and nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive performance, and strength and conditioning.

Help
  • Evaluates, analyzes, researches, and implements program guidance for the H2F program tovalidate current and future requirements.
  • Conducts both short and long term planning for coordination and management to maintain program dynamics and evolving technologies.
  • Conducts analysis, supports and conducts research on human performance.
  • Coordinates with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and pertinent Army Commands on the development of research proposals and focus areas.
  • Conducts education via briefings, classes, seminars, and/or workshops on topics from the physical and nonphysical readiness domains of the H2F System with particular emphasis on human performance.
  • Conducts group and individual human performance consultations and oversight for medically cleared and/or supervised individuals to include cardiovascular, strength, power, agility, flexibility, nutrition, and cognitive performance.
  • Serves as the supervisor of the H2F Human Performance Team, consisting of ten or more Department of Army (DA) civilians and military personnel.
  • May serve as a COR or ACOR to evaluate performance of personal services contractors providing a variety of services to the H2F program.
  • Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.

  • Incumbent may be required to work later in the day and/or on weekends, as scheduled by the supervisor.
  • The incumbent may be assigned a government cell phone and be required to be in an On-Call status after hours and on weekends.
  • Occasional team lifting of up to 45.5 kg required.
  • Must obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative Certification within six months.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement.

  • This is a 53 Career Field position.

Basic Requirement for Holistic Health and Fitness Program Director:

Degree: Bachelor's or graduate (or higher level) degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:

Specialized Experience: One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience which includes: (1) coordinating the Health and Fitness program, including developing evidence-based practices and policies; (2) analyzing mission requirements; researching and interpreting guidance; (3) reviewing and updating programs for safety and effectiveness; (4) managing a human performance enhancement program and/or instructing on readiness domains.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

  • If an employee brings an infant or toddler (up to 3 years of age) to an overseas location, and that infant or toddler, but for the child's age, is entitled to attend the DoDEA on a space-required basis in accordance with DoDEA Regulation 1342.13, then the Military Department responsible for EIS will provide the infant or toddler with the required EIS in accordance with the eligibility criteria consistent with DoDI 1342.12 and DoDM 1342.12.

Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Medical and dental care may be provided by host nation providers. The availability and level of care at host nation medical and dental facilities will vary by location.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.
  • For positions in a foreign country, that country's laws or international agreements may have a direct impact on the ability of an employee's same sex domestic partner or spouse to accompany the employee and receive certain benefits.
