Position serves as an Industrial Services Specialist within the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Group, AJW-L900.

Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a manager or more experienced professional supporting complex electronic and environmental equipment, systems, industrial services, and specialized projects for customers throughout the National Airspace System (NAS).

Duties

Help

Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform leadership functions for projects, programs, or other operational activities within an assigned area of responsibility. Assignments frequently require coordination across functional and organizational lines and application of system-level knowledge related to production operations, industrial services, logistics support, and property accountability processes.

Applies advanced knowledge of logistics management, production control, industrial services, quality assurance, and property management to plan and accomplish assignments. Provides guidance and assistance to management and operational personnel regarding production operations, logistics support processes, workload planning, resource utilization, and operational issues. Reviews trends, analyzes causes and impacts of production and logistics problems, evaluates probable future developments, and recommends improvements to processes, workflows, and support strategies.

Coordinates and prepares evaluations, studies, reports, and analyses related to production operations, contractor support, logistics processes, and program performance. Develops estimates for forecasting labor and material requirements of required services and support activities. Tracks labor and material requirements, evaluates resource utilization, and monitors work in progress for service order agreement projects. Recommends changes to production methods, resource allocation, logistics processes, and operational support strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer support.

Provides production management and production control support for a variety of highly complex equipment, systems, and specialized projects. Develops and coordinates production plans based on customer requirements, engineering data, workload forecasts, material availability, funding constraints, shop capacity, priorities, and delivery schedules. Assesses if material requirements are met to accomplish work activities and initiates procurement actions for direct material through BMx, ANDON, or other appropriate means. Expedites work as necessary to minimize operational delays and support mission requirements. Monitors production activities, evaluates work in progress, identifies operational constraints, and recommends actions necessary to achieve organizational objectives. Uses historical and current operational data to evaluate performance, forecast requirements, and support management decision-making.

Provides technical guidance and assistance to personnel engaged in production control, logistics support, industrial services, quality assurance, and property management activities. Serves as a focal point for resolving complex operational issues requiring coordination across functional and organizational boundaries. Represents the organization in coordination with management, engineers, contractors, customers, and support organizations regarding production operations, logistics support requirements, workload distribution, and operational issues.

Supports Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives through the application of Lean principles, Theory of Constraints methodologies, and data-driven analysis to improve throughput, reduce cycle times, and increase operational effectiveness. Utilizes visual management systems and production control tools to communicate workload status, performance metrics, constraints, and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-H, (FG/GS 12) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, (FG/GS 10/11) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience includes: experience providing technical advice and assistance to planning personnel, supply management personnel, and others engaged in the logistics support of assigned NAS systems; providing analytical support, assistance, and guidance to management and support personnel; reviewing trends, causes, and probable future developments in assigned areas and recommends improvements to processes.
