The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (HRD-DAD). You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of the USMS Human Resources programs; Office of Employee and Labor Relations, Office of Compensation, Benefits, and Processing, Office of Administrative Staffing, Classification, and Audits, Office of Law Enforcement Programs; and Office of Health Administration.

Help

As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (HRD-DAD) at the GS-0201-15 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serves as a primary Human Resources Management advisor to the Assistant Director, Human Resources Division.
  • Primary Human Resources point of contact with the Department of Justice (DOJ), Justice Management Division (JMD).
  • Participates in Human Resources budget preparation, review, and defense.
  • Formulates policies and prescribes rules, regulations, and procedures governing the execution of Human Resources requirements.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-0201-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:


Specialized Experience: Must have one year (52 weeks) of full-time specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the federal service performing the following duties:

1. Directing, managing, or providing high-level oversight across multiple human resources functional areas (such as employee/labor relations, classification, staffing, compensation, or benefits);
2. Developing, implementing, and defending strategic HR policies, long-range program plans, and operational procedures consistent with statutory and regulatory requirements;
3. Leading or supervising subordinate supervisors, managers, or senior professional HR staff in the execution of mission-critical human capital programs; and
4. Advising and negotiating with executive-level leadership and key stakeholders to influence decisions on complex human capital policies, resource allocations, and organizational strategies.

Appointment under Schedule Policy/Career authority:

As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the Excepted service. You will obtain competitive status after two years of service in this position [if applicable]. Your employment in this position will be at-will. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under chapters 23, 43, and 75 of title 5, United States Code will not be available to an individual serving in this position. Prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices will be enforced by the Office of General Counsel and not the Office of Special Counsel.

Education

Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience at the GS-15 grade level.
