Serves as Director of the Recreation Branch. Develops, maintains, plans, and administers Recreation programs, activities, and facilities.
Some facilities and programs are seasonal, thereby, requiring a coordination of venues. Performs as project manager for special one-time assignments as directed by the Chief, Community Recreation (CCR).
Within the established Community Recreation Division (CRD) policies and objectives, manages and develops plans for Recreational Program (e.g., Sports, Multi and Auto Crafts, BOSS, and Soldier Center).
Devises, improvises, and adapts these various activities to fit the conditions of soldier needs, funds, facilities, equipment, and staffing.
Schedules and publicizes, in a timely manner, all community recreation events with continual concern for community interests and needs.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.

A one-year probationary period may be required.
Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and Special MWR events.
Incumbent must be able to obtain an Official No-fee Passport.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Directly related progressive work experience directing one or more recreations programs that provided knowledge of the goals, principles, methods and techniques of recreation and an understanding of the interest of individuals or groups and managerial experience of the caliber described above.
Experience must have been equivalent to the next lower pay level.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Possess at least two years of experience supervising multiple community recreation programs, executing large scale events, and coordinating logistics across diverse organizations and partners.
Possess at least two years of experience developing and executing recreation budgets (APF/NAF) while analyzing additional data to support program and service management decisions.
Possess at least two years of experience leading staff to successfully execute complex recreation operations or special event.
Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager.

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
