Duties

As an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-13, you will perform duties such as install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. Must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.

  • KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
  • Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
  • Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain A SECRET security clearance within one year of appointment.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position
  • Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience with these seven basic qualification factors are applicable to the FWS ANG Dual Status Technician position:
Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, accurately
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Skilled in duties such as, install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes.
Ability to format and write English in reports and presentation formats.
Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings.
Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting material.
Skilled in training, mentoring, leading, and problem-solving

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Musthave the experience or training demonstrating that you have the ability to repair, overhaul, rebuild, align, and adjust complete multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated aircraft where target acquisition and tracking, weapons control, aircraft attitude control, navigation, and other complex functions are performed by numerous systems which are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops. Applies comprehensive knowledge of all major units of the complete multisystem, i.e., how they function independently, how they are interfaced in the integrated subsystems, and how the subsystems interact to achieve operating specifications. Able to determine proper sequence of operations and start point in sequential operations in order to pinpoint areas of malfunction. Extensive practical knowledge of the theories and practices of electromagnetic propagation, electronic circuits, computer theory, hydraulic or pneumatic control and power systems, and many other areas covering a wide range of system applications.


Other Conditions of Employment:

To initially qualify and prior to appointment: an applicant's military medical record must indicate a completed and current medical physical, medical profile, a cleared drug test; and, normal color vision as defined in AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Standards

As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmet recertification every two years.

As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must maintain the position's mandatory AFSC skill level and continue on-the-job proficiency requirements.

As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must maintain local network access IAW AFMANs 33-152, User Responsibilities and Guidance for Information Systems and 33-282, Computer Security.

To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds.

To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time.

To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles, for the state in which he or she lives or is principally employed, in accordance with Air Force and Air National Guard Vehicle Operations Directives.

Education

The mandatory military education requirements are the completion of an Air Force Craftsman Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least two military professional education course program
