• Supervises staff comprised of IT Specialists, responsible for trouble shooting problems and user connectivity to the Local Area Network (LAN).
• Assist Chief Technical Officer (CTO) with planning and executing a wide range of highly complex IT needs in support of the CMHS multi service region.
• Contribute in the design, management, utilization, operation and sustainment of a sophisticated physical and virtual operating environment and all its supporting devices
• Define and coordinate project requirements, plans/systems design, development, implementation and sustainment.
• Plan and organize work to be accomplished, establishing priorities and monitoring progress in terms of timeliness and accuracy of work performed.
• Directly responsible for ensuring the appropriate design, management, utilization and operation of the physical and virtualization environment and its associated data processing resources.

Conditions of employment

• A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
• Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
• Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain Comp TIA Security + certification by completing required training within six (6) months of employment.

Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes demonstrated experience performing IT systems administration and supervisory duties in a medical environment; Leading IT staff responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical issues; managing physical and virtual operating systems; and advising management on IT system matters or needed changes to policies and procedures. . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
