Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires personal protective equipment must be used and worn to complete certain tasks.
This position requires a pre-employment physical must be completed successfully and annually thereafter.
This position requires a valid state driver’s license at the time of hire.
This position requires a forklift license be obtained within six months of employment and maintained thereafter.
This position may require overtime or irregular hours when needed due to mission requirements.
This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Sheet Metal Mechanic without more than normal supervision. Duties which include 1. Performing welder duties using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shield welding process; 2. Repairing metal items.; and 3. Demonstrating proper work methods. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Efforts: Work requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching and often times working from ladders and scaffolds; often lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. and more; and often working in awkward and cramped positions for long periods of time.
Working Conditions: Performs work indoors and outdoors, from extreme hot to extreme cold, from clean areas to extra-hot and dirty areas. Incumbent is exposed to possible injury from burns, falls, strains, cuts and bruises. Employees working in asbestos are frequently required to wear respiratory protection, coveralls, disposable outer garments, gloves and safety boots or shoes. The level of protective equipment is dependent on the measured exposures or operational needs.
