Summary

As a Technology Enablement Specialist, you will collaborate and communicate with government entities and relevant IT companies to educate and provide IT acquisition solutions tailored to agencies business requirements and administration priorities.

Location of position: Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL; and San Francisco CA.

Duties

Help

  • As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technical Subject Matter Expert, provides technical guidance for the development and management of the AI marketplace. Stays abreast of new AI developments and use cases.
  • Provides recommendations to leadership to ensure governmentwide acquisition strategies remain aligned with the evolving AI ecosystem.
  • Establishes and maintains effective government and industry stakeholder relationships to build AI capabilities securely and financially effectively.
  • Establishes productive contacts with government and private industry to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills.
  • Keeps current on new technology developments in the IT industry, and exchanges this information with FAS leadership, managers and end- users to foster and enhance mission performance.

The GS-14salary range starts at $133,007per year.   

If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.  

Applicants applying for the GS-14 grade level must meet the following requirements: Have IT-related experience demonstrating EACH of the nine competencies AND one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service as described below:

IT SPECIALIST COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Specialized experience is defined as: Providing technical guidance in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies; Leading stakeholder engagement and relationship management with government and industry entities to secure AI capabilities; Developing future-oriented strategic roadmaps and Information Technology planning; Leading complex projects and providing expert consultation throughout the program lifecycle; and Conducting market analysis of technological advancements and industry trends to inform acquisition strategies and mission-critical programs.

How you will be evaluated

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

A panel of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will review the application of qualified candidates and assign a score for each of the five required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) based on the experience documented in the resume and narrative responses:

  1. Expert knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques and practices sufficient to accomplish assignments such as: Developing agency level AI playbooks; prototyping AI models using a modern deep learning framework; leveraging machine learning operations techniques for monitoring, validation, and governance of machine learning models; and conducting research for AI solutions to provide guidance to agency customers and to provide feedback to industry partners who offer embedded AI solutions.
  2. Knowledge of giving technology advice, guidance, and consultation for the full program lifecycle, including reviewing acquisition documentation and advising stakeholders to ensure alignment with critical IT requirements, including those associated with artificial intelligence procurements, while supporting the overall program success.
  3. Ability and Skills in providing recommendations to leadership to ensure governmentwide acquisition strategies remain aligned with the evolving AI ecosystem.
  4. Knowledge of acquisition process, contract language, and documents associated with the wide range of IT solutions and services.
  5. Skill and Ability to translate unique customer IT requirements into innovative, integrated, workable solutions, leveraging best practices.

  • Best Qualified = 4+ out of 5 KSAs
