Duties

Help

  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
  • Determines stock levels for recurring and non-recurring items based on usage, project demands, and funding limitations.
  • Performs and manages all vehicle operations for the unit as the primary Vehicle Control Officer (VCO).
  • Provides direct assistance to customers and other organizations on supply problems and issues, maintaining effective working relationships to ensure the timely handling of special requests.

  • At a minimum, the position must meet the qualification requirements stipulated by the US Office of Personnel Management for the 2003 occupational series.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments. Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 10 days a year

  • The duty of the employee is to provide support expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations. The employee could be deployed to support emergency operations, humanitarian missions, disaster relief, or other expeditionary missions in the continental United States or overseas, that are not considered "combat" locations. Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition. As of Mar 2023, of employment. Position DOES NOT provide civilian support to combat operations.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-I, equivalent to the next to lower grade GS-4 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must include includes knowledge of comprehensive policies, regulations, and procedures governing civil engineering supply operations. EDUCATION:
Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

OR
COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit transcripts with your application.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of comprehensive policies, regulations, and procedures governing civil engineering supply operations.
2. Knowledge of federal personnel management regulations, policies, and practices.
3. Ability to supervise, mentor, and lead a subordinate workforce, including assigning work, evaluating performance, and ensuring equal employment opportunity and safety compliance.
4. Skill in operating and maintaining automated acquisition, supply, and vehicle management data systems.
5. Ability to accurately perform data entry, retrieve information, and compile statistical reports to support logistical operations. Ability to apply analytical methods and techniques to research, evaluate, and resolve complex supply chain, inventory, and equipment management problems.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to articulate complex logistical issues, provide excellent customer service, and establish strong working relationships with supported units, storage depots, and external agencies.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

AcqDemo Expanded Probationary Period for Supervisors and Managers: An additional supervisory probationary period of one year may be required when an employee is officially assigned to a different supervisory position.

This is an acquisition demonstration project position NJ-02 equivalent to a GS-05 to GS-08.

Salary Range: This is an NJ-02 with a full salary potential within that band, however the initial salary range offered for this position will be $34,799 to $62,057 which includes locality pay percentage, unless statutory or regulatory rules prevail. Follow on salary increases based on contribution MAY be earned within the full salary of the NJ-02 pay band.
