Summary
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation NACI T1.
Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
Pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
Obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
One year probationary period

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) ELECTRICIAN ~ without more than normal supervision.Have the ability to perform common duties which include 1) Using test equipment such as oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, voltmeters, ampmeters, wattmeters, meggers, ohmmeters, and/or analyzers; 2) Maintaining a record of all repairs made; and 3) Performing preventive maintenance on electrical components. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical Effort
Frequently lifts and carries parts and assemblies weighing up to 20 pounds. May occasionally lift larger assemblies weighing up to 60 pounds. The work requires frequent bending, stooping, standing and working in cramped positions.
Working Conditions
Work is performed primarily inside, under normal shop conditions where it is well lighted and heated. Incumbent is subject to injury from cuts, bruises, burns, and electrical shock. The nature of the work can be classified as dirty and greasy. Incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the job.
