Help

As an IT Specialist (Principal IT Solutions Engineer) at theGS- 2210-15, some of your typical work assignments may include:

Develops new engineering approaches, standards, and methods for AI-enabled operations, multi-cloud automation, and zero-trust enforcement engineering that set precedent for SBA and peer agencies.
Advises acquisition and program officials on technical requirements, Statements of Work, cost estimates, source-selection factors, and architecture-compliance reviews.
Prepares and delivers briefings, white papers, and decision memoranda to senior executives and oversight bodies on engineering posture, modernization progress, operational risk, and investment outcomes.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must show that you have the required IT-related experience for the grade level to which your are applying:

GS-15, Required Competencies:

GS-15: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: serving as a senior engineer or technical authority responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced information technology solutions that integrate AI-enabled operations, multi-cloud computing, and zero trust security principles; AND developing new engineering approaches, standards, or methods for automated workload orchestration across multiple cloud environments; AND designing frameworks for AI-driven monitoring, analytics, and identity-centric access controls aligned with Federal cybersecurity requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Generally, time in Non-Pay status as a federal employee is not creditable towards the specialized experience requirement listed above.

In order to be considered for this position, you must complete all required steps in the process. One of the required assessments for this position is an online assessment that measures critical general competencies required to perform the job. The assessment includes a cut score based on the minimum level of required proficiency in these critical general competencies. You must meet or exceed the cut score to be considered. You will not be considered for the position if you score below the cut score or fail to complete the assessment.
