What to Expect

  • Serve as the MEF Embedded Preventive Behavioral Health Capability (EPBHC) Director, acting as senior advisor to the Commanding General on all behavioral health prevention and force preservation efforts across the region.

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of MEF-wide behavioral health prevention plans, ensuring alignment with strategy, policy, education requirements, and emerging trends.

  • Coordinate and synchronize prevention initiatives across commands, installations, and HQMC, functioning as the primary liaison to ensure unified communication, consistent programming, and effective regional execution.

  • Use data-driven analysis to identify behavioral health risks, target populations, and mission readiness impacts; oversee onsite program evaluations and deliver findings to MEF leadership.

  • Develop regional guidance, policy, and operational procedures; prepare and present technical reports, briefings, and training materials to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Provide senior-level supervision to EPBHC personnel, manage budgets and resource requirements, ensure compliance with DoD/USMC policy, and uphold high standards of professionalism, EEO, and customer service.

  • May work a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. May travel to complete work assignments and conduct or attend presentations, conferences, and meetings. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required.

What are we looking for?

  • Four years of experience that demonstrate knowledge of and/or experience in serving as a Prevention Director. 

  • Relevant education may be used as a substitute for experience.

  • Mastery-level knowledge of behavioral health prevention and response, with practical experience developing and implementing prevention and intervention programs across a large or complex organization.

  • Mastery knowledge of behavioral health, prevention, and response. Knowledge of military structure and environment preferred.

  • Must have practical experience developing and implementing behavioral health prevention and intervention programs.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of designing and interpreting surveys, fact finding, using investigative techniques and presenting results; skill to analyze and evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of business practices to meet goals and objectives.

  • Must have practical experience in program management, including implementing complex processes and programs in a large enterprise; practical understanding and expert working knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and their methods of implementation across many objectives; and ability to work efficiently and proactively, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment.

  • This position has been determined as Non-Critical Sensitive. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must possess or be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (T3/ANACI) Secret Clearance to access classified information.
