As an Office Automation Clerk (Marketing Assistant), you will perform a variety of general office duties and support the execution of squadron-wide promotional programs. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Office Administration & Customer Service: Receive telephone calls, greet and assist walk-in customers, complete work and email orders, route and file correspondence, and maintain tidy electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Marketing Collateral & Design: Utilize pre-designed templates in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud to produce proofs, design assets, and administrative documents.
  • Production Operations: Operate office and production-level equipment, including high-capacity printers, copiers, scanners, folding machines, and paper cutters to prepare promotional materials.
  • Squadron Publicity Support: Assist in preparing, proofreading (for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and continuity), producing, and distributing marketing materials for squadron events and activities. Materials include magazine booklets, brochures, calendars, flyers, posters, banners, signs, and slide presentations.
  • Event & Survey Coordination: Assist with the planning, setup, coordination, and execution of promotional booths, FSS games, and giveaways. Help administer and tabulate customer feedback surveys to measure marketing effectiveness.
  • Event Attendance: Attend and actively assist at FSS events and program activities as directed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • Health Assessment: Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Driver's License: Must possess a valid state driver's license and maintain a clean 36-month driving record.
  • Drug Testing: This is a Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent will be subject to random drug testing.
  • Scheduling: Must be willing and flexible to work an uncommon schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours as dictated by event schedules.

Qualifying Experience:
Applicants will be evaluated based on their experience and skills relative to the position requirements.
Required Qualifying Experience:

  • Clerical Experience: Must possess experience in responsible clerical or office work of any kind that demonstrates your ability to perform the duties of this position at the NF-02 level.
  • Financial Aptitude: Proven experience with cash handling.
  • Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of office automation systems, including MS Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred / Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience using DSLR cameras and basic photography techniques.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) or similar design platforms.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
