Respond to emergency calls and alarms, assesses probable cause, exercises search and arrest authority, and performs initial lifesaving first aid as a first responder.
Collect and preserve physical evidence, conduct routine preliminary investigations, and interview witnesses. Prepare case facts under established guidelines and provides clear, truthful testimony in military, federal, or state courts.
Operate specialized traffic equipment (radar, Lidar, breathalyzer) during patrols, conduct investigative stops, issue citations, executes high-speed pursuits when necessary, and manage traffic control points.
Protect personnel, tactical military assets, and high-value assets by executing comprehensive Antiterrorism/Force Protection measures to deter and deny unauthorized access, and maintains proficiency through installation AT exercises.
Operate National Crime Information Center terminals to transcribe data in compliance with regulations. Generate standard police reports, processes fingerprints/DNA samples, and prepare administrative documentation.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Incumbent must successfully graduated from the Civilian Police Academy; or successfully graduate within 12 months of hire date; or is a current employee and is considered grandfathered IAW AR 190-56.
Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement such as; weapons qualifications, first aid/CPR and National Incident Management System (NIMS) training requirements.
Incumbent must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation.
Incumbent must successfully pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
Incumbent must comply with and maintain the requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.

Incumbent in this position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
Incumbent must possess a valid state driver’s license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator’s license.
Hours of work is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
TDY (temporary travel) of 10% of the time is required.
Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.

To qualify at the GS-07 grade level: I have one year of specialized experience at the GS-06 grade level which includes performing standard law enforcement duties, including responding to emergency calls, securing incident scenes, and enforcing local, state, or federal laws; conducting preliminary investigations, including interviewing witnesses, collecting and preserving evidence, and apprehending suspects; and preparing detailed law enforcement reports and utilizing law enforcement databases to input and retrieve criminal data.
