About the position: This position is assigned to the Auto Skills Center and the Arts & Crafts Skills Center on F. E. Warren AFB, WY.

This position is Regular Part-Time. The position is guaranteed 20 hrs/week but has potential to work up to 40 hrs/week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends, and holidays. As a Regular Part-Time employee, you are eligible for leave and benefits; Health & Life Insurance, 401K, and Retirement.

The starting pay for this position is $30.00/hour.

Duties

Help

Physical Effort: Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, reach above shoulder, push, pull, lift, and carry objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs routine management functions and oversees work involved in the day-to-day operations of the Arts & Crafts Skills and Auto Skills Centers.
  • Recommends changes to local policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to achieve desired objectives and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Ensures compliance of management resources, equipment, property control and inventory.
  • Assists in the preparation of budgets, financial statements, reports, and other documents reflecting the status of the Skills Centers operations.
  • Plans and performs periodic checks throughout the day to ensure adherence to cleanliness, safety, and fire standards.
  • Develops marketing plans to include a yearly schedule of events.
  • Monitors all customer feedback.
  • Receives and resolves customer complaints and requests for special services, obtaining assistance from Flight Chief when necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all local state and federal inspections.
  • Provides instruction to patrons as requested or as deemed appropriate.
  • Processes work orders, distributes workload, and monitors the progress of the operations assigned to Arts & Crafts Skills and Auto Skills Centers.
  • Maintains order in the facilities, enforcing applicable rules and regulations.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are kept in good condition with periodic and preventative maintenance.
  • Recommends repair and/or replacement of worn-out tools and equipment.
  • Monitors the operation and maintenance of the resale storage area.
  • Sells resale merchandise to authorized patrons and tracks special order items not in stock.
  • Serves as facilities primary representative for Self-Inspection, MICT, Safety HAZOM, ESOMIS.
  • Assists in either the Arts & Crafts Skills or Auto Skills Center as needed.
  • May drive government vehicles in the scope of daily duties.
  • Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and deadlines.
  • Assures that mission and accuracy requirements are met; selects employees, hears and resolves grievances and complaints; initiates corrective and/or adverse action for performance or conduct; schedules and grants leave; and identifies training needs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Must have responsible experience in the areas of resource management, fund accountability, inventory and property control.
  • Supervisory and Managerial experience is highly desired.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and possess the skills required to deal with the public in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of automotive shop operations and ability to read and understand automotive manuals - OR - experience in a skills program similar to either an Auto Skills or Arts & Crafts Skills program is preferred.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate information to patrons and must be able to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1/National Agency Check with Inquiries (T1/NACI).
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license.

Education
