Duties

Help

Designs marketing collateral in support of 40 various Force Support Squadron (FSS) independent activities to include but not limited to electronic and hard copy media. Designs and maintains web pages utilizing Dreamweaver. Tangible products may include brochures, flyers, calendars, signs, posters, and/or branding logos from computer graphic programs, scanned images and/or photographs. Creates displays to stimulate through the use of colorful materials, artistic designs and photographs. May provide or arrange photographic and/or video graphic support for FSS functions. Conducts maintenance of the Ist SOFSS website to include but not limited to periodic and daily updates. Responsible to validate all program information prior to publication. Works with the marketing team and activity managers to develop and implement marketing programs for recreational, seasonal and holiday interest. Assists the Supervisory Marketing Specialist in developing communication strategies to determine the effective advertising vehicles and appropriate media mix. Assists in planning marketing campaigns designed to enhance participation in FSS activities and events by considering the characteristics of the target audience and an effective media mix necessary to reach customer base. Assists in conducting qualitative and quantitative market research. Administers surveys, collects data, tabulates responses and assists the Marketing Supervisory Specialist in analyzing results. May conduct tours, briefings, surveys or focus groups aimed at informing customer base of services available within FSS. Provides support for all special events including night and weekend events. Proactive and willingness to cover for other positions on leave and during manning gaps. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This Position may be scheduled up to 35 hours/week M-F / Work approximately (4) nights per year for events and (1) Sat morning

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Must show specialized experience which demonstrates the ability to design and layout advertising in a graphically appealing manner to include samples of flyers, calendars and other forms or media. Ability to work independently with little instruction or guidance is required. Must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic design principles. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suites or similar graphics software is required. Coursework and/or experience which provide a general knowledge of marketing and advertising principles and/or practices is highly desirable. Experience with digital photography and/or videography is desirable. Create original visual graphic design content, for all print and digital multi-media channels. Strong knowledge or JavaScript principles, Cascading Style Sheets freehand, Dreamweaver, FTP, or similar software is advantageous. Experience in Adobe Creative Cloud products: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word Press, html. Excellent time management, organization skills, oral and written communication.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
