Duties

Help

Assist in the daily planning, development, and administering of programs to enhance personal and professional development, performing arts, leisure and recreation, family and life skills and Community Support Flight special events. Assists in program operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities. Provides support for base theater operations to include assisting with reservations, movie showings and private functions. Assists in opening and closing the Gun Range when scheduled events occur. Responsible for hooking up gaming system trailer hitch to truck. Ability to drive truck and trailer to designated events and parties and set up and run gaming system. Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures. Assists in maintaining facility to meet operational standards. Assists with recurring and non-recurring activities, programs, special and joint community undertakings to make maximum use of facilities, service, and other resources. Under direction of Community Center Manager, assists with the development and implementation of program plans. Collects payments and protects funds. Responsible for direct contact with internal and external customers. Arranges for supplies and services needed to accomplish scheduled activities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Qualifying Experience:
Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is desirable. Ability to safeguard and handle cash, basic knowledge of computers and Point of Sales/cash registers is highly desirable. Skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities is highly desirable. Must present a neat and clean appearance. Experience with customer service skills in dealing with the public and the ability to exercise tact and professionalism is highly desirable. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Drive, Calendar, and Maps is highly desirable. May be required to move, handle, lift, etc. tables, chairs, and other equipment and furnishings (up to 50 pounds in weight) in support of Community Center and private or official sponsored events.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
