Duties

Help
  • Provide guidance on budget operations to ensure resources are used in an efficient manner.
  • Manage the battalion reimbursable budget of over $10M to minimize occurrences of funding violations.
  • Serve as Battalion Agency Program Coordinator for Credit Card Program to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Develop trends to forecast the financial capabilities for subordinate units.
  • Analyze program plans to determine the impact on signal operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the one year requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one year specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by

1. preparing periodic cost and performance reports to identify variances in operational spending;
2. monitoring budget plans or programs to ensure obligations are in accordance with regulatory controls;
3. maintaining budgetary records to prevent over-obligation;
4. utilizing expenditure data to revise annual budget estimates.

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: accounting and business administration.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

  • This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status. Prior to appointment applicants are required to sign a statement indicating they understand the conditions of employment or assignment to the position and acknowledge the consequences of failing to meet and maintain those required conditions.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a three year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in DoDI 1400.25 V3005, Cyber Excepted Service, Employment and Placement. While serving a probationary period the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • This is a KEY ESSENTIAL position that cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization and is subject to a 2-hour alert and recall and periodic work schedule changes. Because of the essential nature of this position, the incumbent cannot be a Ready Reservist or a Military Retiree with recall obligations.
  • This position is designated MISSION ESSENTIAL. In the event of severe weather conditions, other installation closings, or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the employee may be required to remain on duty or report for duty. Because of the essential nature of this position, employee may not be in the Ready Reserves, National Guard, or be a Military Retiree with recall obligations. Employee may be required to work overtime and other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This is NOT an on-call position.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
  • Student Loan Repayment, Advanced In-Hire, Relocation Incentive, Recruitment Incentive, and Advanced Leave Accrual are not authorized.
