The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is searching for a SAPMO Personnel Security Specialist (NH-0080-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).

Description:
Serve your country by protecting its most vital secrets. Space Systems Command acquires and fields cutting edge solutions in space to protect the Nation, its citizens, and allies - solutions that must be protected to ensure continual, long-term, support of the nation thousands of miles away in space. Be a part of the team that ensures the Nation's secrets stay preserved and unrevealed. Provide personnel security advice, support, and oversight to ensure only the most trustworthy individuals work on the integration of space systems capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess an In-depth knowledge of Space System Command, ability to effectively lead, motivate and guide workforce. Operate in dynamic organization structure and skill to communicate both orally and in writing. The candidate must exhibit a mastery of problem-solving and the ability to understand complex problems. Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key individuals/groups within and outside immediate work unit including field- level representatives, and ability to advise senior leaders and field-level representatives. Top Secret Clearance; Intimately familiar with Special Access Program Security processes; Knowledge of JADE system of record; bachelor's degree preferred, Leadership experience; Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Security Fundamentals Professional Cerification (SFPC) and Special Program Security Certification (SPSC); 5 or more years supporting SAP programs.

1. Knowledge of processes and procedures related to program management and strategic planning activities needed to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and time constraints.
2. Ability to encourage new ideas and innovations; manage human, financial and information resources strategically and build coalitions to achieve common goals.
3. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
4. Ability to persuade others to accept recommendations, work toward an agreement, and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions.
5. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements; determine goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinate with other organizations; monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
7. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI access.
  • This is a designated drug testing position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) required.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • PCS is authorized. Incentive is not authorized.
