Incumbents are required to push, pull, reach, walk, stand, crawl, kneel, bend, and climb for sustained periods of time. Sometimes works in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed inside and outside exposing the mechanic to the prevailing weather conditions, excessive noise, and intermittent slippery or uneven surfaces. Incumbents are constantly exposed to moving objects, elevations, and sharp edges, with the possibility of cuts and bruises. Also exposed to electric shock and burns. Grease, dirt, and dampness are frequently encountered. Incumbent is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for this position.
