Qualifications

To be determined as qualified and eligible for the Safety and Occupational Health Manager, GS-13 position, you must meet the Specialized Experience and Time-in-Grade requirements, as outlined below.

Specialized Experience

To qualify for the position, applicants must possess one full year of specialized experience that is comparable in scope and complexity to the GS-12 grade level in the federal civil service. Qualifying experience for the Safety and Occupational Health Manager position is defined as: Planning, implementing, and/or evaluating a comprehensive Safety and Occupational Health (SOH) program in a high-risk industrial work environment; ensuring compliance with OSHA industry standards and corresponding laws and regulations; providing technical advisory services to management officials on a variety of SOH matters or concerns; conducting hazard analyses, inspections, and accident investigations in an industrial work environment; developing and/or implementing SOH policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies; supervising or leading personnel specializing in SOH and/or industrial hygiene.
