Duties

Help

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-2 broadband level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Help identify the specific requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Assist with correlating PM objectives with Program plans to assure required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Help coordinate and evaluate logistics support to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time.
  • Coordinate with higher level specialists to jointly research and help develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focused on delivering a MDS capabilities that are effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Acq Demo Business and Technical Management to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH 02 Broadband Level, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of general experience equivalent to the NH-01 or GS-4 grade level in the Federal service as listed below and must meet 2 of the 3 specialized experience listed below to be qualified:

  • Applying logistics processes, policies, procedures, and practices necessary to develop and assess technical and economic feasibility, including cost, schedule and performance for major weapon system programs.
  • Researching, planning, coordinating, and briefing logistics actions in support of leadership's goals and vision.
  • Identifying and applying the concepts, policies, and practices of logistics management as they apply to new and in-service systems during all acquisition phases of the life cycle.
B. Successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university., OR

C. You have some general experience as described in A, but less than one year; and you have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. You have computed the percentage of the requirements that you meet, and the total is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.)

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education maybe substituted for experience at the NH-02/GS-05 level.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. ACQUISITION POSITION: This position requires Acquisition Workforce Level Foundational Certification prior to hiring is not essential but must be accomplished within 24 months after entry into this position.

  • DAWIA (Back to Basics) Certification: NON-CAP: Position requires DoD Acquisition, Life Cycle Logistics, Foundational certification.
