About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Arts and Crafts Facility on Holloman AFB, New Mexico.

This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave).

Incumbent must be a current NAF employee at Holloman AFB, NM and be able to work other than normal duty hours which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible for planning classes and activities within the Arts & Crafts Center.

The primary duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Builds and submits the calendar of events to the Arts & Crafts Manager for approval.
  • Plans, facilitates, and instructs classes.
  • Seeks out and establishes contracts with instructors to teach classes.
  • Responsible for submitting program information to Marketing.
  • Will work directly with Marketing to create surveys and customer feedback forms to collect information that will assist with developing classes and activities that meet the demands of the community.
  • Will train other staff within Arts & Crafts, to assist with the programming activities.
  • Proposes budgets and pricing for the programs they plan to offer to ensure they align with the financial goals of the activity.
  • Identifies materials needed for any classes, customer requests, and processes customer orders.
  • Responsible for the evaluation of program effectiveness.
  • Prepares publicity materials, stays current on trends and techniques to provide quality programs.
  • Operates the cash register system, collecting money, making change, and issuing receipts.
  • Opens and closes out the register, completes required reports and deposits in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Assists customers with special orders and any issues that may arise.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
  • Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to established procedures.
  • Assists with inventory of resale, supply, equipment, and property.
  • May assist with recruitment, development, and supervision of assigned personnel.
  • May assign and review subordinates' work and provide instruction/guidance as required.
  • May prepare reports and justification for awards, reassignments, promotions, and any other actions when appropriate.

Qualifying Experience:

  • Experience working in an Arts & Crafts environment with sufficient knowledge to demonstrate techniques and instruct in one or more of the Arts & Crafts areas.
  • Must be proficient with a wide variety of software programs, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Working experience and knowledge of basic framing, engraving, matting, etc.
  • Creative and artistic abilities are desirable.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

  • Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
