Summary

This position is located within the Support Services Division of the Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR) Support Services Division.

Duties

Help
  • Supports Information Technology (IT) needs for dynamic environments including McCoy’s Community Center, Marketing, Outdoor Recreation, Fitness Center, Sportsman’s Range, Bowling Center, Campground, and Ski Area.
  • Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains system hardware and software. Delivers timely and effective assistance to end-users to ensure seamless functionality of Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) systems.
  • Responds to service requests, documents support actions, analyzes basic technical facts, and determines appropriate methods for problem resolution using established IT practices, procedures, and policies.
  • Provides user assistance and introductory support for tools including SharePoint, PowerAutomate, Power BI, and other enterprise applications. Leverages these technologies in alignment with the growing emphasis on modern digital workflows.
  • Assists with conducting basic user training to improve technology proficiency across MWR. Contributes to knowledge-sharing and documentation to enhance team capabilities.
  • Follows established cybersecurity and information protection policies in daily work, promoting secure handling of data, accounts, systems, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject is satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR215-3, para2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Driver's License required to operate government vehicle to performing service calls.
  • Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors (managing electronic message boards).
  • Business operations are Monday-Friday but is subject to change and will be based on the needs of the activity. Nights, weekends and holidays are required during MWR events.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

  • Work experience, education, and/or specialized training sufficient to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of Information Technology (IT) principles, concepts, and methods as well as skill in applying basic IT principles and practices in:
    • Performing highly structured, entry level work designed to develop a broader and more in-depth knowledge and skill needed to perform higher level assignments;
    • Communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing,
    • Gathering and analyzing facts and drawing conclusions,
    • Data storage, software applications and networking.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
  • Possess or actively pursuing a Security+ certification or equivalent.
  • Work experience or formal training with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools to include SharePoint, Teams, PowerAutomate, or Power BI.
  • Experience working with RecTrac, Child and Youth Management System (CYMS), or similar point-of-sale system.
  • Experience identifying, evaluating, and implementing modern technologies or digital tools to improve workflows, streamline business processes, or enhance operational efficiency.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
