Conducts biopsychosocial assessment through clinical interview and integration of patient historical data, other treatment team assessments, and relevant information according to specified guidelines.
Provides group counseling and individual treatment planning sessions for patients and conducts educational workshops on substance abuse and dependency issues.
Manages care by modeling healthy behavioral responses to agitated patients and maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff, and others.
Implements counseling interventions to promote patient progress towards treatment goals under the guidance of the Inter-disciplinary Team (IDT).
Actively contributes to the IDT by providing behaviorally specific data from monitoring patient progress, developing and modifying patient treatment plans, and assisting in the training and oversight of addiction counselor interns and students.

This position requires Drug and Alcohol Counselor Certification (ADC I) or equivalent certification within six (6) months of entry on duty.
This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from, or in accordance with, the American Heart Association and American Red Cross. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.
The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
