As a Director, Global Affairs, you will be involved in special program reviews and analysis, focused on money laundering, terrorist financing, other financial crimes, and other international initiatives.
Summary
This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence - Terrorist Financing. As a Director, Global Affairs, you will be involved in special program reviews and analysis, focused on money laundering, terrorist financing, other financial crimes, and other international initiatives.
Represent TFFC on various U.S. government working groups, task forces, and interagency committees relating to AML CFT, and work closely with the U.S. interagency community, including the State Department, Justice Department, Defense Department, National Security Council, and various elements of the law enforcement, regulatory, and intelligence communities.
Work with the above agencies and communities to identify and make recommendations concerning the targeting and attacking of financial movements that support terrorism.
Conduct research, analysis, and study on a wide range of AML CFT programs.
Draft policy and position papers, briefing materials and testimony for senior Treasury officials, and documents for use in support of international initiatives.
Lead or serve on special project teams as assigned by supervisor. Manage TFFC regional team members and coordinating region-specific projects and taskings.
As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the excepted service. You will obtain competitive status after two years of service in this position. Your employment in this position will be at-will. Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under chapters 23, 43, and 75 of title 5, United States Code will not be available to an individual serving in this position. Prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices will be enforced by Treasury and not the Office of Special Counsel.
Must successfully complete a background investigation.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:For the GS-15 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Experience developing counter-illicit finance policies related to the implementation of international counter-illicit finance best practices and standards at the regional and national level; AND
-Experience representing an agency or business in engagements with foreign governments, international organizations, and the private sector; AND
-Experience working with the financial sector to further anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism policy priorities and goals.; AND
-Experience assessing the threat posed by illicit financial networks, presenting such assessments, and recommending policy options to senior executive-level officials.; AND
-Experience managing projects, leading teams, and mentoring staff in the preparation of briefing memoranda, talking points, and other written products for senior executive-level officials.
The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. TIME-IN-GRADE: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-15, you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
