Summary
You will serve as a MECHANICAL SYSTEMS INSPECTOR (SHIPS) LEADER in the Non-Nuclear Inspection Division, Inspection Branch 133.2 of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Current permanent employees of UIC 39040, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
You will explain changes to technical procedures and determine proper material safety precautions.
You will advise other employees on existing instructions to ensure deadlines are met.
You will monitor and ensure safety requirements are followed and tools and equipment are used properly.
You will provide oral and written instruction, outlining quality and quantity of work and inspection requirements, and general work/inspection methods and procedures.
You will also perform the duties of a Mechanical Inspector; setting the pace, including demonstrating proper methods.
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
