Duties

Help
  • Manage organizational policies, procedures, and guidance using electronic document management systems and shared information repositories.
  • Draft and finalize official correspondence, memoranda, reports, and other written materials in accordance with established requirements.
  • Manage databases, spreadsheets, tracking systems, and electronic records to ensure information is accurate, current, and complete.
  • Coordinate committee and meeting activities, including scheduling, preparing agendas and supporting materials, and documenting and finalizing meeting minutes.
  • Create presentations, briefing materials, and instructional content using PowerPoint and other automated office applications.
  • Evaluate administrative requests and supporting information, research routine matters, provide responses, and refer complex issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide administrative support to staff and leadership, including calendars, official travel, time and attendance, records management, and office supply and equipment needs.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • This position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • This position has mandatory seasonal Influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal Influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • This position requires the incumbent to have Tuberculosis testing.
  • Lifting up to 35 pounds may be required.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) maintaining office files and records in accordance with established policies and procedures; 2) utilizing automated computer programs to prepare correspondence, reports, and other administrative documents; and 3) coordinating travel arrangements, including transportation and lodging, and maintaining associated travel documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three
