About the Position: Provides a variety of technical supply support for the US Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans district. Provides assistance for all areas of supply management as required to all customer elements. This program involves the management of various expendable and non-expendable items and materials, which are handled through central supply channels, coordinating direct purchase, and formal procurement procedures that require extensive fact finding, analysis and research.

Help
  • Analyzes historical usage, project requirements, seasonal trends, and customer demands to determine and maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages of specialized, non-recurring supply items.
  • Utilizes automated logistics systems to prepare, reconcile, and process material receipt transactions, ensuring accurate inventory records and timely property book updates.
  • Plans and conducts physical inventories of a diverse range of specialized, high-value, and sensitive items to reconcile discrepancies and ensure absolute property accountability.
  • Audits and reviews supply record adjustments, transactions, and supporting documentation to ensure absolute accuracy, regulatory compliance, and completeness prior to database finalization.
  • Coordinates directly with carriers, shippers, and vendors to reconcile shipping discrepancies, track delayed cargo, and resolve receiving errors to ensure the integrity of supply operations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing comprehensive technical supply operations support for specialized or unique equipment and materials; 2) Managing the lifecycle, distribution, and replenishment of expendable and non-expendable inventory; 3) Planning and conducting physical inventories and reconciling discrepancies; AND 4) Performing property book maintenance and database updates using automated logistics systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
