Summary

The primary purpose of this position, DEMAND PROGRAM SPECIALIST, NH-0301-02, is to serve as a Forecast Demand Specialist involved in performing long/mid-range and short-term material planning for the repair, overhaul, manufacturer, and modification of various complex weapon systems as well-as a variety of associated assets.

Duties

Help

- Develop Collaborative Demand Plan for Consumable Items.
- Evaluate and forecast the material requirements for a wide variety of commodities, aircraft, or missiles, etc.
- Assess material changes/requirements identified during reviews.
- Perform material studies to accurately determine piece parts requirements and when they are needed in the repair process, to include parts obsolescence and interchangeable/substitutable.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification
Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least three (3) years of progressively responsible general experience, one year of experience
which is equivalent to at least a grade level (GS-04), pay band (NH-01), or equivalent and at a level close to the work of this position that has
given them the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform. General experience is described as: experience that
demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; plan and organize
work; and communicate effectively orally and in writing and ensure day to day operations comply with policies.

OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree. This
education has been obtained in an accredited college or university. NOTE: You must submit copies of your unofficial transcripts with your
application if using education as a substitution of experience.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed post high school education and
experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. NOTE: You must submit a

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a broad range of analysis techniques and possession of analytical and evaluative abilities/methods. Ability to analyze current or projected operating programs to evaluate their actual or potential effectiveness in achieving objectives, and utilize appropriate data collection techniques for the use of analyzing data to determine changes and trends.
2. Extensive knowledge of material management policies, principals, and practices; supply program relationships, inventory management principals, procedures, techniques, and practices.
3. Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze an evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of program and/or operations and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex assignments; possess an in-depth knowledge of material management requirements in support of production workloads.
4. Knowledge of automated material and production systems, structure, content, data bases, internal and external interfaces, and uses; repair facility work processes/methods; directives and technical data as it related to material functions.
5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to build rapport and, gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with co-workers, managers, supervisors, and employees contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

The ideal candidate would have the following experience/knowledge: Material forecasting, Bill of Material knowledge, familiarity with failure/replacement/occurrence factors, tech data knowledge and G005M experience.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: The work is sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items like papers or
books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office
environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

This position has been designated as Emergency Essential (E-E). In the event of a crisis, selectee must perform the E-E duties until relieved. This position cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization. Requires the incumbent be removed from military recall status.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE-DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: The VOW Act requires federal agencies to treat an eligible active-duty service member as a veteran, disabled veteran, and preference eligible (as applicable) when applying for civil service positions before the effective release or discharge date.
