Duties

Help

  • Serve as lead administrator and network engineer.
  • Manages network configurations and implements security policies.
  • Plans all network upgrades and schedules tasks to minimize downtime.
  • Manages intrusion detection systems and implements mandates related to cyber security.
  • Serves as the liaison between the NEH and CISA/Homeland Security on all matters related to security.
  • Manage agency backup and recovery systems.
  • Provides expert level end user support and service.
  • Researches, evaluates, and provides feedback on problematic trends and patters in customer support.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

At the GS-14 level Qualified candidates must possess:1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level or equivalent experience.

Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, for example: (1) Maintaining NEH networking, cloud architecture, backup and recovery systems, and keep up to date on cyber security best practices; (2) applying advanced IT principles, concepts, and practices in order to provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and others on IT issues; (3) ability to develop, evaluate, and improve security and usability of cloud and office automation software; (4) ability to communicate complex IT concepts to management and non-technical personnel, both orally and in writing.

1. If you are an eligible Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) applicant you may apply for special selection over other candidates for this position. To be well-qualified and exercise selection priority for this vacancy, displaced Federal employees must be rated at 85 or above on the rating criteria for this position.
