Duties

Help
  • Plans, manages, supervises, implements, coordinates, and monitors all activities of the Field Office directly.
  • Responsible for the Field Office enforcement management function and ensuring that the agency's statutory enforcement programs are effectively carried out.
  • Responsible for the office's activities to obtain and approve settlements that resolve allegations of discrimination and provide appropriate relief.
  • Implements, manages, and evaluates the office's mediation function, including the mediation of charges of employment discrimination.
  • Oversees the design, preparation, and conduct of training and other outreach programs related to the office's mediation program.

  • Prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices will be enforced by the Office of General Counsel [or agency equivalent position] and not the Office of Special Counsel.

Qualifications

To Qualify for the GS-15: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience in:

  • Enforcing federal employment discrimination laws.
  • Applying laws, regulations, procedures and policies pertaining to Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Equal Pay Act (EPA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA).
  • Leading the development and implementation of annual work plans or objectives for a team or unit.

This is a Schedule Policy/Career position. This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with the EEOC. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow the EEOC to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.

This announcement uses the Rule of Many/Cut-off Score method under 5 CFR § 332.402. Under Rule of Many, a numerical ranking process is used to evaluate applicants through validated assessments to produce a numeric score. Veterans' preference points are added to the passing score of candidates eligible for either 10-point or 5-point preference.

We will provide the selecting official with a sufficient number of names, when available, to consider at least three candidates per vacancy. If fewer than three eligible and available candidates per vacancy result, we will expand the group in accordance with our pre-announced supplement strategy and OPM policy.
