The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado is searching for a Supervisory Security Specialist to support CFC/S2 (GG-0080-13).

Description:
To serve as Combat Forces Command (CFC) Branch Chief, Personnel Security Office (S2S) and United States Space Force Divisional Chief, Personnel Security Office (USSF/S2P); a Service and FIELDCOM equivalent. Formulates USSF policy, directs and manages the personnel security posture for USSF Sensitive Compartmented Information security program comprised of education and training; personnel; industrial; cyber assurance; physical; information and administrative security matters which affect Space Force organizations throughout the world, the National Capital Region (NCR) and those field operating agencies and direct reporting units under USSF, Secretary and Chief of Staff of the Space Force and Space Staff. Serves as the Service and FIELDCOM Personnel Security SME and advisor for all related security matters.

Education: Security Professional Education Development (SPED) certificates
Training: Special Security Office (SSO) Course

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a wide range of advanced security concepts, management principles, criteria, requirements, technology, and practices involved in personnel and information security,
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, procedures, and plans of two or more specialized programs to support and promote information sharing strategies.
3. Skill in the use of analytical principles, practices, techniques to review, evaluate, and apply several alternatives according to the security requirements for the highly specific situations, availability of materials, relationship with other protective programs, and cost/benefit considerations.
4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization.
5. Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
6. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI clearance.
  • Position will close in 5 business days or 75 applications (whichever comes first).
  • Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • PCS is authorized.
  • Employee may be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization.
  • Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) and Security Program Integration Professional Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD.
