IED pursues programmatic goals by establishing and prioritizing quantitative public health targets for indoor air contaminants, using state-of-the-art scientific and policy analysis; providing tools to track and measure performance of buildings, as well as developing and implementing an action plan that can leverage legal, economic, and institutional factors to support and encourage improvements in indoor air quality and related building improvements for all Americans. The Division coordinates with Regional offices on all the above functions.
