Incumbent serves as a Loan Servicing Assistant and is responsible for assisting Loan Specialists in servicing or liquidating a full range of disaster business and home loans.
This is a full time temporary position NTE 1 year which may be extended for an additional year for a maximum of 2 years. The appointment does not confer competitive status, reinstatement rights, or eligibility for non-competitive conversion to a permanent job to the individual(s) selected.
As a/an Loan Servicing Assistant at theGS- 1101-7, some of your typical work assignments may include:
Providing support services for the purchasing, servicing, and liquidation of commercial loans. Identifies loan documents and completes purchase packages.
Applying regulations for government loan programs. Determine eligibility of loan servicing actions by utilizing different types and variety of rules and regulations. Apply knowledge in making loan servicing actions.
Responds to oral requests from banks and borrowers and other financial institutions concerning factual information on payments on loans, interest rates, loan balances, terms and conditions and other credit information.
Preparing written reports summarizing analysis of problem loan situations. Responds to full range of inquiries related to loan servicing.
You must successfully complete a background investigation.
You may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-07: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector:
(1) working with residential and commercial loan programs and their collateral requirements; and
(2) performing financial analysis of both personal and business documents to determine eligibility; and
(3) analyzing economic conditions and trends to enable proper collection and liquidation recommendations.

Substitution for Specialized Experience (GS-7):
1 full year (18 semester hours) of graduate-level education directly related to the position. Education must be in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
