Duties

Help
  • Plan work operations on a weekly or monthly basis, allocates resources, distributes work, provides data for long range schedules, and participates in planning meetings.
  • Serve as first-level supervisor over leaders and workers performing multi-skill maintenance on combat vehicles at various CONUS and occasional OCONUS locations.
  • Manage personnel actions, evaluates performance, determines training needs, schedules leave, acts as labor-management representative, enforces safety, and manages property as hand receipt holder.
  • Ensure high morale, provides counseling, maintains readiness for CONUS/OCONUS travel, and oversees compliance with physical, training, and certification requirements.
  • As required to support organizational mission and emergent workload.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • 90% travel CONUS/OCONUS may be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Travel Card (CTC).
  • May be required to pass pre-employment/deployment physicals and maintain annual physical requirements and immunizations.
  • Must be able to maintain a Government Passport.
  • Must be able to maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • All applicants are required to successfully complete the Civilian Education System Course and the Supervisory Development Course within 12 months of being assigned to the position. Failure to do so may result in an adverse action.

Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 year and 1 day. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army Employees) applying for a TERM appointment will be appointed/converted into a TERM appointment with No statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic Supervisor without more than normal supervision, including manage leaders and workers who perform multi-skill maintenance on combat vehicles at several locations. Supervise multi-disciplinary maintenance teams, direct tactical vehicle repair, testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and shipping operations to sustain efficient workflow and mission-ready support.
