Help

Serve as a Practice Manager (PM) for one or more complex, multi-faceted, medical practice(s).
Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice, allowing clinical staff to focus on patient care needs unencumbered by administrative tasks.
Contribute to the development and implementation of standard policies and procedures applicable at the practice level.
Plan, direct, analyze, and coordinate administrative activities for a health care delivery system.
Develop, implement, and oversee systems for the purchase of materials and equipment, review and make recommendations for temporary duty (TDY) requests, training, and other expenditures.

One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: one year of experience involving a full range of: 1)administrative and technical support services for one or more complex, multi-faceted, medical practice(s); 2)Statistical analysis, fiscal management, personnel, supply, information technology, budget workload, quality accuracy, records administration, and hospital facilities for assigned areas and involves considerable responsibility for planning, overseeing, organizing and controlling administrative operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
Position is designated as Mission Essential. The incumbent will be required to report to work during times of contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather or other emergency situations.
