Serve as the Station Manager for several telecommunications stations which are operated and maintained by the U.S. Army Signal Activity-Fort Detrick.
Manage satellite and terrestrial communications missions by applying in-depth technical expertise to Vertex, AN/GSC-52, and MILSTAR systems to ensure optimum performance across various military telecommunications networks.
Implement engineering standards and operational directives through the interpretation of policy and the continuous revision of station procedures to meet evolving worldwide communication and control requirements.
Execute short and long-range information management planning as the on-site Program Manager to establish schedules and milestones for system upgrades while ensuring 24/7 telecommunications availability for the customer.
Coordinate operational status and technical requirements with high-level stakeholders, including DISA and the White House Communications Agency, to provide technical expertise during complex malfunctions and facilitate future equipment integration.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) in accordance with AR 600-85. Signing a DA Form 5019 is mandatory prior to being placed into this position, individuals must undergo a drug test prior to being placed into this position.
