NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:              Recreation Attendant

BUSINESS TITLE:  Driving Range Attendant

JOB SERIES:            0189                                        PAY LEVEL:                         NF-01

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The incumbent serves as a golf range attendant performing a combination of tasks at the driving range to include the recovery of golf balls utilizing a golf cart vehicle, cleaning of range balls, and refilling ball dispenser machines.

Maintains, cleans and ensures the driving range is in proper order for patron usage, to include but not limited to trash disposal, removal of loose debris, cleaning of benches, range stalls, and golf mats. Will be responsible for landscaping and maintenance duties as determined by a supervisor.

Ensures the water coolers are properly maintained and checked for cleanliness and refilled as needed.  Ensures cup dispensers are available on the cooler stand with cups filled for refreshment purposes.

Opens and closes the golf course gates, chains and other means of access to the golf course and driving range. Issues driving range loaner clubs and ensures a daily accountability of inventory and that all loaned equipment is returned and cleaned. The incumbent is responsible for inspecting and maintaining upkeep of all golf range equipment.

The incumbent supports the Golf Course Assistant Professional as needed and determined by a supervisor, during an array of events related to golf instruction to include clinics, club fitting and golf demo days. 

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. 

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor.

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:


1.    Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school;
OR
Have completed a formal vocational training program;  
OR
Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with preference for employment rather than continuing education.
(Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)

2.    Must possess a current and valid driver¿s license.
 
3.    Must be able to perform work outdoors under inclement weather, dirt, and dust.

4.    Must be able to perform prolonged standing, walking, reaching, lifting and carrying objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.

5.    Must be able to accommodate flexible work schedule to include weekends, holidays, and nighttime.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


1.    Practical knowledge of golf or recreational activities.

2.    Ability to learn rules and etiquette of golf as well as company policies, rules and regulations, and provide quality service to customers.

3.    Must be able to communicate in a mature and professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
