Serve as the Engineer Technician for Residential Communities and is responsible for construction oversight for the family housing privatization initiative.
Review and evaluate technical specifications and proposals for all phases of family housing community planning, development, redevelopment, and construction.
Prepare for periodic Community Development and Management Plan (CDMP) provisional renegotiations throughout the life of the privatization program.
Performs quality assurance inspections and communicates with construction site point of contacts POCs to mitigate any construction problem areas.
Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Required to possess and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart 1 USOGE, 6/08). Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
Position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.
This position is an inclement weather essential position, and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Occasional temporary duty travel (TDY) or business travel is up to 10%.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 level in the Federal service which includes experience as an engineer technician reviewing and evaluating contractual efforts concerned with the installation contracts in facilities engineering technical fields: mechanical, electrical, civil associated with real property or utility systems maintenance, repair, and new work.
Education
